ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
Nick Champion offers advice and assistance with agri-environment stewardship applications including Entry Level (ELS), Organic Entry Level (OELS) and Higher Level (HLS).

Stewardship payments are funded by modulation of the Single Farm Payment. Samantha Davies our in-house Stewardship advisor has successfully submitted over 150 ELS and HLS applications on behalf of clients.

ENTRY LEVEL STEWARDSHIP
(ELS) is a 'whole farm' scheme open to all farmers and land managers with conventional land. Acceptance will be guaranteed providing you can meet the scheme requirements.

ORGANIC ENTRY LEVEL STEWARDSHIP
(OELS) is a 'whole farm' scheme similar to ELS, open to farmers who manage all or part of their land organically and who are not receiving aid under the Organic Aid Scheme (OAS) or the Organic Farming Scheme (OFS)

HIGHER LEVEL STEWARDSHIP
(HLS), which will be combined with ELS and OELS options, aims to deliver significant environmental benefits in high priority situations and areas. HLS is discretionary and concentrates on the more complex types of management, where land managers need advice and support and where agreements need to be tailored to local circumstances.

Basic Payment rates are as follows:-
ELS = £30 per hectare (£12.14 per acre) per annum over 5 years
OELS = £60 per hectare (£24.28 per acre) per annum over 5 years
HLS = Depends on management option chosen - 10 year agreement
